Thanks for everything YOU did to make a difference!

Well, the election cycle has come to a close and, consequently, so has the 2008 Chris Lien for Congress campaign. We here would just like to thank anyone and everyone who helped over the last year. We had so many awesome, awesome volunteers, contributors, and supporters throughout Chris’s Congressional run and we could have never been as successful as we were without you. Whether it was walking in one of the many parades, attending a meet and greet, putting up a yard sign or 4x8, or making calls on the day before Election Day, everybody came together to bring Chris from a small level of name recognition to over 120,000 votes, and that’s something to be proud of.

 

We genuinely appreciate everybody’s efforts and contributions and we hope that you will continue to show your support for your local candidates and your national candidates in the future. This is a great state full of great people and your hard work is what turns a hard and arduous Congressional race into a worthwhile journey for Chris. We just want to thank you for joining us on this journey.

It's ELECTION DAY! - Vote for Chris Lien today!

Well everybody, today is ELECTION DAY and we can’t encourage you enough to get out and VOTE FOR CHRIS LIEN. Everybody has worked hard on this campaign and it all comes to down to your vote, so please make sure YOU take the opportunity to go vote and vote Chris Lien for U.S. House.

If you need any information on where to vote or whether you are registered to vote, check out the Secretary of State’s website (by clicking here) for all of the information you are looking for.

Only ONE more day until Election Day - Show your support for Chris Lien!

Well folks, we’ve had a busy, busy day (being the day before Election Day and all) and I apologize for the lack of today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions, but I’m back on the computer and I’ve got them right here!

The first suggestion shouldn’t be too hard. Simply text or e-mail 10 friends this message: “Don’t forget to vote for Chris Lien!” While you’re at it, feel free to encourage them to pass that message along to 10 people. The votes could really add up if people remember to spread the word, so I hope we can rely on YOU to do that.

Another way to have a big impact before tomorrow’s election is to change your MySpace or Facebook status to “Don’t forget to vote for Chris Lien – www.chrislien.com.” This could have a big effect on undecided voters, so change your status and let people see who you believe will bring South Dakota solutions to fix the brokenness in Washington.

Only 3 days left, but still plenty of time for YOU to have an impact!

What would you do if I told you that you only had 3 more days to help get the word out about Republican U.S. House candidate Chris Lien?

If you’re anything like me, you would check in on today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions and show your support of Chris Lien by taking on the suggestions and making them happen!

So what can you do today with only 3 days until Election Day? First of all, you can forward a recent article about Chris to 5 friends. Give your friends a reason to vote for Chris (or at least learn more about him before November 3rd) by sending them a news story or two that can fill them in. Want some examples? Well, check out this story from the Associated Press (click here) or this story from Jonathan Ellis at the Argus Leader (click here). Or, send them video footage that they can watch or listen to while they’re working (for example, you can send them a link to the KELO debate by clicking here).

Also, a big thing you can do is call 10 Chris Lien supporters and remind them to vote for Chris on Tuesday. That personal contact can make a huge difference when making an important decision like voting, so make sure that your friends and family know who the right choice is for South Dakota’s lone U.S. House seat.

So, we’ve really gotta push during these last 3 days, and we are relying on YOU to help us make the difference we need for Chris to win. Neighborhood Blitz – We want YOU to join us!

Folks, we have got an exciting day today and we want YOU to be a part of it. We will be blitzing neighborhoods all around Rapid City with yard signs give away and literature to pass out, so if you want to help, we’d love to have you show up and be a part of it.

While it’s fairly short notice for the start today (10 a.m.), you can send me an e-mail if you’d like to meet up with us somewhere and join us for the blitz. As soon as I get your e-mail I can tell you where we plan to be as the day goes on, so if you want to join us, e-mail mike@chrislienforcongress.com

We’ll also be stopping for lunch and then regrouping to go out in the afternoon, so if the afternoon might be a little bit more available for you, e-mail me and let me know. I’ll be happy to point you in the right direction to join us.

Also, this doesn’t need to be a strictly Rapid City neighborhood blitz. If you live somewhere else in this beautiful state and want to go door to door telling people about Chris, you are more than welcome to do that (and that personal contact may just be enough to convince an undecided voter to vote for him).

So, join us for today’s Neighborhood Blitz, or fire one of your own up. Either way, we only have FOUR days to get the word out about Chris, so there’s no time to waste!

Only FIVE days for YOU to make a HUGE impact for Chris Lien!

Ok folks, counting today we are down the FINAL 5 DAYS to vote for Chris Lien and there is still SO much to do before Election Day that we could certainly use YOUR help!

What can you do in the final five days? Well, you can start by taking us up on today’s suggestions and ideas from the 43 Day Plan.

The first idea is simply to wear your Lien Machine shirt. Let people see who you support this election year by wearing your Lien Machine t-shirt with pride. And, while you’re wearing your Lien Machine tee, it might not be a bad idea to give yesterday’s Bulletin Board Blitz suggestion a try (click here to get more information on the Bulletin Board Blitz).

Another way to have an impact for Chris today is to call a talk radio show and encourage people to vote for Chris Lien. Whether it is the person on his or her way to work in the morning, or the person sitting at his desk with the radio on who hears you, showing your support for Chris in such a public forum could convince others to support him as well. And if multiple people are calling in and supporting Chris, it will show plenty of voters just how highly regarded Chris is in this state.

So let’s recap today’s suggestions from the 43 Day Plan:

1)    Wear your Lien Machine shirt
2)    Organize a Bulletin Board Blitz (if you are able)
3)    Call a talk radio show and encourage people to vote for Chris Lien

If you do those things, you will have made a difference for Chris Lien as we head into this busy and important final weekend.

We want YOU for the FINAL Bulletin Board Blitz!

Well folks, after another trip back across the spectacularly beautiful state of South Dakota, I’m here in Rapid City once again, and I’ve got more suggestions from the 43 Day Plan. Although it may be a little late, today’s suggestion can also carry over into tomorrow, so don’t be afraid to try it both days.

And just what is today’s suggestion? Well, it’s now the final Bulletin Board Blitz and if you haven’t done a Bulletin Board Blitz, today is the day to give it a try (especially since we only have 5 days until November 4th)!

You may be wondering what a Bulletin Board Blitz happens to be, and I’ve got the answers for you right here: simply print off as many of these PDFs – (click here) – as you are willing to print and put them up in any public places you can. That’s right, it can be your local coffee shop, a telephone pole on the corner, or a public bulletin board at your place of employment. Wherever you put them, the eye-catching posters will give voters a reason to look into Chris as a candidate. Who knows - the posters themselves could lead to plenty of votes for Chris Lien!

So, if you have time today, go ahead and do some Bulletin Board Blitzing, but if you don’t have time this afternoon, go ahead and do it tomorrow (p.s. – one of tomorrow’s suggestions is to wear your Lien Machine t-shirt…and Lien Machine T’s and Bulletin Board Blitzes are a great combo if you ask me…). We have until Tuesday to get out and show the voters which candidate will truly bring South Dakota solutions to fix Washington’s problems.

Only ONE week until Election Day - Here's what YOU can do!

Well we are down to the last 7 days until Election Day and that means we have one week to kick it up to our strongest efforts of this campaign! One way to help in this final week is by checking in on the 43 Day Plan every day and seeing the suggestions for helping Chris Lien become your new Congressman.

One way to do that today is to post a comment on the Campaign Blog encouraging Chris Lien (and the campaign staff) to keep working hard in the final week. Although there’s no chance that Chris will be slowing down his efforts as we head into the homestretch, seeing strong support from YOU just might be the inspiration he needs to make him realize how worthwhile this journey is. Support can always come from anywhere, so why not start with this campaign blog?

Now, for those of you looking to have a HUGE impact as we head into the final week, one thing you can do is send an email to your address book, online friends or phone contacts encouraging their support of Chris Lien. Just send an e-mail explaining to your online friends and contacts why you think Chris is the candidate to vote for on November 4th, and you can have a big impact. Who knows – you may just convince an apathetic voter to get out and show some support for someone you feel so strongly about!

So, share your words of encouragement for Chris and the Lien Machine crew here on this blog (you can certainly post it as “Anonymous” if you’d prefer it) and e-mail your friends and family about how great a candidate Chris is. Then, check back tomorrow for the next step in the 43 Day Plan to see what you can do to have an impact for this campaign.

KELO and KOTA pre-debate rally videos - BIG thanks to everyone there!

We here at Chris Lien for Congress would just like to throw out a HUGE thanks to everybody who braved the cold, rainy weather for the KELO pre-debate rally last Friday in Sioux Falls and the KOTA pre-debate rally last night in Rapid City.

Both were a big success and it was awesome to see such strong support for Chris at both locations. We’ve got a photo here as well as videos to watch, so hopefully you enjoy watching them as much as everyone enjoyed being a part of them. As you can tell, Chris was certainly appreciative. While I had the camera off when he walked up to say hello at KELO, his arrival to the “Less Talk, More Action!” chant at KOTA was (clearly) well-received!

Only 8 days to go! - Here's what YOU can do today...

Hey everybody, I hope you all had a chance to watch last night’s KOTA debate, and if you didn’t, click here to watch it now at KOTA Online. After you’ve watched the debate, read up on how you can make a difference by taking part in today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions – keep in mind, we only have 8 days until Election Day!

First of all, one thought we have for you is to text or e-mail 5 friends: “Watch for the new Chris Lien commercial.” One way to make sure they know which commercial you are talking about is to pass this link along – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uwNx1EGQnM – to show them the commercial on the YouTube page (and I’ll embed it for you to watch below as well). And keep an eye out for it on your local TV stations because it’ll be running for the next week and you’ll surely see it at some point or another.

Another way to make a difference is to hand out as many Chris Lien brochures as possible. That’s right, just grab a handful of brochures from either the Sioux Falls or Rapid City campaign office or your local Republican Victory Office and pass them out wherever you can. You can give them to people at work, leave them on a table at your local coffee shop, or walk down the block and leave one on your neighbors’ doorsteps. However you make it happen, giving away as many brochures as possible will certainly have an impact.
